Adenau, Stadt

Adenau () is a town in southern Ahreifel. It belongs to the Ahrweiler district in Rhineland-Palatinate and is the administrative seat of the Adenau municipality, of which it is also a member. According to state planning, Adenau is designated as a medium-sized center. Adenau is nicknamed “Johanniterstadt” because one of the oldest Johanniter neighborhoods existed here since the Middle Ages.
