Horb am Neckar, Stadt
Horb am Neckar is a town with 25,651 inhabitants (December 31, 2024) in the Freudenstadt district in Baden-Württemberg. It is the most populous municipality in the district and is located about 50 kilometers southwest of Stuttgart. Horb am Neckar has been a major district town since 1981. The city of Horb am Neckar is a middle center in the Northern Black Forest region and belongs to the “Stuttgart Metropolitan Region Cooperation Zone”. The city is the executive municipality of the Horb administrative community, which also includes the municipalities of Empfingen and Eutingen im Gäu.

The city offers many jobs through small and large industrial companies in several industrial areas. The once heavily indebted city is now one of the least indebted places in the Freudenstadt district. Thanks to the flourishing economy and budget planning, this has recently been achieved through our own efforts. The remaining debts are largely due to the massive investments made by the company's own companies in the infrastructure, such as fiber optic expansion for fast Internet connections in all parts of the city. In the coming years, these remaining debts will be massively reduced in order to get closer to the goal of becoming one of the few debt-free cities in the region. Horb station, which opened in 1866, is a dividing station for local and long-distance traffic, where the Stuttgart–Horb railway line joins the Plochingen–Immendingen railway line. A total of three other districts have their own stops: Bittelbronn and Heiligenfeld (both located on the Eutingen im Gäu–Schiltach railway line) and Mühlen (on the Plochingen–Immendingen railway line).
